Bill Helin's Art On the remote northern coast of what is now British Columbia flourished from antiquity the Tsimshian Nation. This was a complex Aboriginal culture that evolved in the mists of the emerald coastal temperate rain forest. The dazzling Tsimshian arts embodied the mystical, the supernatural--evoking a time and spirituality when people were more closely connected to nature and mother earth. |

| Bill Helin, whose beautiful artworks grace the pages of Dances with Dependency, is cousin to author Calvin Helin. Bill is a member of the Gitchiis Tribe of the Tsimshian Nation. He is son of Hyemass—one of the most famous Tsimshian Chief warriors of ancient coastal legend. |

Bill is a master artist and has become internationally renowned for the refined quality of his work as an artist/designer, and his versatility in various artistic mediums.
